St Astier NHL Lime 2.0 25 kg

£25.00 (Sold out)

Mixing natural hydraulic lime or lime putty with sand on site is a cost effective method for producing mortar, plaster or render.

Abode Renovation supplies mature fine seived lime putty and St Astier natural hydraulic lime which comes in three strengths NHL2, NHL3.5 and NHL5.  The strength of the mortar comes from the strength of the binder and the mix ratio. St Astier lime has a range of other characteristics that make durable mortars for the the UK climate.

The colour of the mortar comes from the sand which should be well graded with a particle size suitable for its function.  Abode supplies a range of sands from stock in various grades and colours.

"What is hydraulic lime mortar?"

Hydraulic simply means sets under water and is a traditional mortar that does not contain cement but is mixed and applied the same way as a cement mortar which makes it practical for modern constuction and historic building repairs.
